The Wapack National Wildlife Refuge was
established in 1972. It is comprised of 1672 acres of timbered uplands
surrounding North Pack Monadnock. The refuge is managed as a
wilderness area suitable for hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country
skiing, and wildlife observation. Hunting, trapping, camping, and
motor vehicles prohibited. Popular bird watching area. Cliff and bare
ledge habitats. |
